Sightings of family's lost dog stream in

Joker sightings have been occurring in Evans in the past few days. But just when it looks like he'll be caught, he performs yet another vanishing act.

"They've seen him several times," Susan Reilley said Saturday about the 7-year-old part-Labrador missing since a wreck Tuesday near The Pizza Joint at Washington and Old Evans roads.

Joker belongs to Ms. Reilley's daughter, Susannah Kramer, and her husband, Jacob Kramer.

Mr. Kramer's Nissan Titan overturned after it was struck by another vehicle turning left, police said. Joker was in the truck and ran toward a Waffle House.

Ms. Reilley said she and the Kramers have received as many as 30 calls from people saying they have seen Joker near the site but were unable to catch him.

"Everybody says he's fine," Ms. Reilley said, but "he's scared to death. We're hoping he'll calm down."

Ms. Reilley said she is "amazed" with the public support, which includes posters put up by Realtors and food set out by veterinarian offices.

The latest reported sighting occurred Friday when a woman called to say she had fed Joker.

The dog is black with a white chest and was wearing a black collar with a white reflective band. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call (864) 333-5386, (803) 270-6693 or (803) 270-6625.
