THIS IS FOR the Augusta Commissioner who still wants to suck up the taxpayer's money for out of town junkets and vacations. What did he say? If you don't go, you can't grow? Did anyone else find this exceedingly ironically funny? Buddy, you might be going, but Augusta sure isn't growing! Maybe if he spent more time around here than running off hither and yon, he'd see that.
TRY GETTING AN APPOINTMENT at an MCG clinic. They will not see you unless you have private insurance. You could come with cash in hand and it wouldn't matter. Where else can folks be served around here?
I HAVE A RANT for the Georgia War Veterans Home. First, let me say that it is clean and neat. The problem is that the environment is dreary, depressing and like a hospital. My close relative that is there requires only some extra physical help with everyday tasks. He is not bedridden. ... There is absolutely nothing warm and friendly about it - even most of the staff is rough and unfriendly. If anyone is curious, just go there and see for yourself. Shouldn't our war veterans have a comfortable, warm and friendly place to go? What's wrong with sprucing it up a little?
I HAVE TO RANT about the problem of the delinquent taxes not being collected. It seems to me that the commissioners should vote to make it a local law that all delinquent taxpayers would lose all their property, then after the city sells all the seized property they could make a good budget for the city.
WHILE WE ARE TRYING to track all the sex offenders and where they live, why don't we go a step further and track all the murderers, drunk drivers, burglars and drug dealers, etc., with a database to search for each? A lot of these criminals are repeat offenders, too. It would be nice to know who/what your neighbors are into.
A RAVE TO The Chronicle for its articles about new restaurants in the CSRA. One suggestion: please put the address of the restaurant in the body of the article.
THIS IS A RANT to the ill-informed individual so blinded by hatred of Dick Cheney that he thinks "Cheney has gone strangely silent since his cronies have been implicated in treason for outing a spy." Richard Armitage, an undersecretary at the State Department, not a "Cheney cronie," outed the "spy," whose husband concocted a phony report about Iraq and Nigeria. Read the real news a little and learn something intelligent to write or talk about or just continue exposing your ignorance.
