Eryn Eubanks & The Family Fold music fest back to help Lynndale

The expressive rise in Crissy Ensley’s voice spoke volumes as she described the upcoming music festival that annually benefits her facility.

Ensley is program manager at Lynndale Inc., an Augusta-based agency that supports individuals with developmental disabilities.

In an effort to highlight the role and mission of the agency while raising necessary funding, Eryn Eubanks & The Family Fold band are sponsoring the fifth annual Music Festival benefitting Lynndale.

The festival will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Kroc Center, 1833 Broad St. Admission is $10.

According to Eubanks, not enough people are aware of the positive work being done at Lynndale.

“Through music, it’s our role to stage a music festival to help raise awareness in the community about the value of Lynndale within our community. We stage the festival so we can raise funds to benefit their programs,” said the 24-year-old band leader.

Lynndale was established in 1952 and educates adults ages 18 and older. The facility’s mission includes training them to restore furniture and take care of greenhouses, Ensley said.

Ensley describes Eryn Eubanks & The Family Fold as a perfect fit to lead the annual music festival.

“First of all, they’re a family band. They’ve got a certain air of warmness that comes across. They genuinely care,” she said.

“A lot of our clients can relate to their music – the traditional gospel and bluegrass-country. Eryn is so reachable to them and as a family, they have a passion for our people.”

Eubanks has been performing with Family Fold for 11 years. She plays several string instruments, including acoustic bass, violin, ukulele, guitar, dobro and banjo.

“This is my way of sharing my God-given talents with others,” she said.

A variety of other bands are scheduled to perform at the festival, including local gospel legend Flo Carter and Roger Davis of Augusta’s Ed Turner & Number 9 Band.

Several food vendors will also be there.

“This has certainly become a welcomed tradition for us,” said Ensley.
