Broadway in Augusta Series announces 2012-13 schedule

Augusta theatergoers can look forward to a variety of award-winning, touring Broadway classics in the 2012-2013 season of the Taylor BMW Broadway in Augusta Series.


Global Spectrum and Chicago-based Innovation Arts & Entertainment unveiled the line-up for the series Thursday.

Now in its ninth season, this year’s Broadway series will feature six titles: Mannheim Steamroller Christmas by Chip Davis, Cirque Dreams Holidaze, Monty Python’s Spamalot, Fiddler on the Roof, Elvis Lives and Dreamgirls, according to Global Spectrum.

Season ticket prices range from $150 to $290. The platinum package includes all six shows, the gold package includes five selected shows and the silver packages includes four selected shows.

Tickets to individual shows are not available at this time. Individual tickets will go on sale in September after all renewing series subscribers and new series subscribers are seated.

Pop Rocks: Augusta, my Christmas wish list has one thing

My family often accuses me of being a difficult person to Christmas shop for. While it is true that my tastes run toward the particular and tend to lean heavily on easy-to-wrap standards such as books and records, I believe that as I get older, I’m less concerned with the item than the idea. Give me something I believe you have thought about and carefully considered, and I’m happy. The present clearly purchased at the drug store the day before is met with considerably less enthusiasm.
