Evans man still missing, police say

James Wesley Johnson, 23

Authorities are looking for an Evans man who left his home three weeks ago and hasn’t been seen since.

James Wesley Johnson, 23, left with only his computer on Dec. 13. He doesn’t have a driver’s license or own a vehicle, according to a Columbia County Sheriff’s Office incident report.

Johnson’s father reported him missing that evening.

According to police in Southfield, Mich., Johnson boarded a Greyhound bus in Augusta. The bus was bound for Southfield, a northern suburb of Detroit. Johnson arrived at the bus station in Detroit on Dec. 14, but didn’t continue on to Southfield, according to The Detroit News.

Authorities believe Johnson might be in Oakland County, which is just north of Detroit.

Columbia County sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris said there is no evidence of foul play in Johnson’s disappearance.

Anyone with information about Johnson’s whereabouts is asked to call Investigator Johnny McDonald at (706) 541-2800.
