Hephzibah man, 84, dies after being hurt in car crash April 12

An 84-year-old Hephzibah man has died after being hurt in a car crash last week.

Richmond County Coroner Grover Tuten said Thomas P. O’Grady died Thursday at Medical College of Georgia Hospital from blunt force trauma after being involved in an accident April 12 on Mike Padgett Highway.

Richmond County sheriff’s Capt. Scott Gay said O’Grady was driving his 1993 Oldsmobile Regency on Clark Road when he pulled onto Mike Padgett Highway in front of a 2006 Mercedes, driven by Carolyn Sanders, of Girard, Ga.

Authorities ruled that O’Grady was at fault.
