Ga. GOP plans 7 Senate debates around state

The Georgia Republican Party will come to Augusta on April 19 as part of seven statewide debates for candidates seeking the U.S. Senate seat.


All the debates will be on Saturdays and begin at 6 p.m.

The Senate seat is now held by Saxby Chambliss, who announced last year he would not seek re-election.

“By organizing debates in all four corners of the state, the Georgia GOP will provide voters with more access, more information, and more opportunities to interact with the Republican candidates for Senate,” a party statement said.

Dates and locations include:

Jan. 18 – Adel

Feb. 1 – Kennesaw

Feb. 22 – Gainesville

March 8 – Macon

March 29 – Savannah

April 19 – Augusta

May 10 – Columbus
