USC Aiken to host talk on Arab Spring

The University of South Carolina Aiken’s International at Noon Series will continue Nov. 29 with a focus on the Arab Spring Movement.

The event, taking place from 12:10 to 1 p.m. in the Humanities and Social Sciences Building, Room 103, is free and open to the public. It will feature a presentation on “Developments of the Arab Spring Movement” by Roger Deal, an assistant professor of history at USC Aiken who is an expert on Middle Eastern studies.

“He will be giving an overview of the events relevant to the Arab Spring movements so far along with some background information on the ‘birth’ of the movement and also possible directions that the events could take in the region,” said Maria Anastasiou, the director of intercultural programs at the university.
