Return trip to Walmart lands man in jail

A return trip to Walmart on Deans Bridge Road landed a 45-year-old Augusta man in jail, according to a report from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

Gerald Charles Stukes of the 2700 block of Wicklow Drive was being held Monday night on a felony probation violation and three counts of shoplifting.

According to the report, a Walmart employee said he spotted Stukes on Aug. 20 loading a Dell desktop computer and Samsung security system into a cart and leaving without paying. On Monday, the employee spotted Stukes when he was allegedly shoplifting again and turned over video and pictures of the earlier incident to deputies.
