Augusta mother pleads not guilty murder in son's drowning death in March

An Augusta mother pleaded not guilty Friday to a charge of murder in the drowning death of her toddler son.

Lisa J. Stocker, 38, entered her plea in Richmond County Superior Court. She was indicted last week on the charge of felony murder.

According to the indictment, Stocker is accused of committing felony murder by neglecting 2-year-old Daniel I. Stocker, who wandered unattended out of his home on March 21. The boy was found dead in an unused pool behind the family’s home on the 3800 block of Creighton Place.

Stocker remains free on bond. Her case is assigned to Judge J. Wade Padgett.
