Police searching for bank-bag robber

The Richmond County Sher­iff’s Office is searching for a man who snatched a deposit bag from an elderly woman at a bank Monday morning.


At 10:17 a.m., deputies were called to Wells Fargo at 2835 Washington Road over a robbery by sudden
snatching, according to an e-mail from Lt. Blaise Dresser.

The woman told the deputies that a man in a green hooded sweatshirt ran into her, snatched the deposit bag she was carrying and ran from the bank.

A witness followed the man west on Washington Road until losing sight of him in the 200 block of
Boy Scout Road, Dresser said.

The robber is described as black, 5 feet 6 inches tall with a slender build, wearing dark pants, white shoes
and a sweatshirt with “A­mer­­ican Eagle” across the chest.
