Man arrested in 12th Street shooting

A man is in jail after admitting to shooting a another man on 12th Street this morning.

According to Richmond County sheriff’s Lt. Blaise Dresser, Diandre Scott, 27, told investigators Johnathan Darnell Brown shot him in the chest after the two had been involved in an earlier squabble.

Deputies arrested Brown, who admitted to the shooting but claims Scott initiated the fight by punching him first.

Brown, 23, was booked into the Richmond County Jail on charges of aggravated assault.

Authorities said Scott is expected to make a full recovery.
