Five people, ranging in age from 12 to 19, have been charged in connection with a carjacking on Peach Orchard Road in March.

Richmond County sheriff’s Sgt. Dan Carrier said authorities were initially called March 10 to Peach Orchard Road near Bungalow Road where the victim, Azin Mommin, told deputies he was meeting Christy Johnson, 18, and her 15-year-old cousin, Dashia Sturgis, when a man came up and stole his Toyota Camry.

Augusta State University police pulled over the vehicle Wednesday evening after spotting the car with no headlights on. Johnson was driving the vehicle.

Authorities have charged Johnson, Koran Thomas and James Walker, both 19, and a 12-year-old with carjacking, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Sturgis was charged as an adult with armed robbery.
