Save Our Students to hold rally, vigil for slain Augusta boy, 10

Save Our Students, a coalition of parents, teachers and community members committed to stopping violence involving young people, will host a rally and vigil for the three families affected by Monday night’s shooting at Plantation Acres Mobile Homes off the 3900 block of Deans Bridge Road.

“All three families are suffering,” said Save our Students founder Annettea Mills, referring to the slain 10-year-old boy, Hunter Morris; the 12-year-old suspected shooter, who has been charged with involuntary manslaughter; and a third boy she says was a witness to the incident.

The event starts at 6 p.m. in a field across from lot 360 in Plantation Acres.
