Belvedere man charged with shooting North Augusta man

William Hixon IV

Police have released the names of the men involved in a shooting outside a business in North Augusta.

At 1:15 p.m., North Augusta Public Safety responded to a shooting in front of Quick Cash Title Pawn, 429 E. Martintown Road, according to an e-mail from Lt. Tim Thornton.

When police arrived, they found William Hixon IV, 26, of Belvedere, and Christopher Seymour, of North Augusta, outside a vehicle. Seymour had two gunshot wounds, one to his leg and one under his arm, Thornton said.

An investigation revealed Hixon shot Seymour with a pistol after an argument that started as they were driving east on E. Martintown Road and ended with the shooting in the store’s parking lot. Hixon’s 4-year-old son was in the passenger back seat. He was unharmed and has been since released to family members.

Seymour was transferred to the Medical College of Georgia Hospital, where he was sent into surgery. The extent of his injuries has not been released.

Hixon was charged with attempted murder and Seymour is charged with multiple counts of possession of illegal drugs, Thornton said.
