Coroner releases inmate autopsy results

Autopsy results revealed a 19-year-old at Augusta’s Youth Development Campus died of blunt force trauma to the head, Richmond County Coroner Grover Tuten this morning.

Jade Holder died at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday after being declared brain dead at Medical College of Georgia Hospital.

According to Georgia Bureau of Investigation Assistant Special Agent in Charge Pat Morgan, agents were called in to investigate after Holder was seriously injured in his cell in Unit 43 around 9 p.m. Monday.

The unit holds 15 to 20 inmates, who are housed in one-man cells.




Savannah River Site resumes normal activity
