Man demands sexual favor from girl, threatens arrest

A 16-year-old girl accepted a ride from a man she did not know Thursday afternoon, and he threatened to arrest her if she did not perform sexual acts with him, according to a Richmond County Sheriff’s Office incident report.

The girl said she was at the Southgate Shopping Plaza on Gordon Highway when a white man drove up in a white, newer-model Toyota Camry and offered her a ride just before 2 p.m. The girl accepted and got into the front seat. The man, described as being in his mid-30s with dirty blonde hair and goatee and wearing a black hat, gray T-shirt and green cargo pants, told the girl she was under arrest and read her Miranda rights, the report says.

When she started to cry, the man exposed himself and described what she could do to avoid being arrested. The girl got out of the vehicle and the man drove off, but returned a few minutes later and offered the girl money to get back in the vehicle, according to the report.

Deputies said the girl’s parents want to press charges if the man is found.
