Man reportedly displays BB gun at North Augusta businesses



NORTH AUGUSTA -- Authorities were called to two North Augusta businesses Sunday morning after a man was seen at each one with a BB gun.

According to an incident report, North Augusta Public Safety officers were called to Waffle House on West Martintown Road around 4 a.m. Sunday after witnesses reported seeing a man showing off a BB gun in the parking lot. He then brought the weapon into the restaurant.

Witnesses told officers he was heard saying, “I thought I’d bring it in just in case I had (bad) service I could shoot the waitress.”

Authorities were also called to Circle K on West Martintown Road when witnesses at the service station also saw the suspect displaying the gun.

Charges are pending a judge's decision to sign an arrest warrant, police said.
