Head of Augusta Prep to move to Marietta

Jack Hall, the head of schools at Augusta Preparatory Day School, will leave in June to become headmaster at The Walker School in Marietta, Ga.

The current headmaster at The Walker School, a private school similar to Augusta Prep but about twice its size, plans to retire at the end of the school year.

Both Hall and his wife, Cathy, a middle school English teacher at Augusta Prep, are from the Atlanta area.

Cathy Hall and daughter Alice, a junior, will remain for one more school year.

"She started here in kindergarten and loves it here," Jack Hall said. She wouldn't want to graduate from anyplace else."

A search committee to replace him has been formed by the school's board of directors.
