There were 37 victims of homicide last year; six homicide cases remain unsolved, including the double homicides of Nancy Cushman and Angela Brooks and Jeramie Hammonds and Kayla Marie Wells.
A majority of the suspects identified by investigators are still waiting trial or another resolution in their case. Some haven't been indicted; in others, the case is in limbo for lack of witnesses or the charges have been dropped altogether.
Here, in chronological order, is the current status of 2010's homicide cases:
Jan. 21: A 3-month-old boy dies after being taken off life support. Police charge the father, Corduray K. Scott, 22, with murder. Scott allegedly shook the baby on Jan. 18 while he was supposed to be baby-sitting at the Fayetteville Drive home. Injuries include 9 broken ribs and detached retinas in both eyes.
His case remains open.

March 13: Scotty Mathis, 40, dies at Medical College of Georgia Hospital where he was taken after being shot on the 1600 block of Luckey Street. Charged with murder is Curtis Carter, 18.
Carter submitted a pro se motion July 6, 2010, to dismiss his indictment on the grounds that it was based "solely on hearsay evidence" when better evidence was "readily available" for presentation to the grand jury. He was later denied bond. An order was issued June 29, 2011, admitting a taped statement Carter made.
April 19: James Benny Tidwell, 62, is shot during an armed robbery at his store, Mo Money Pawn Shop, at 2901 Mike Padgett Highway.

July 21: David Lee Johnson, 23, is found dead at the Sunset Villa Apartments. Alicia Johnson, 35, is charged.
A motion to grant her immunity from prosecution provides a detailed account of what Johnson alleges happened just before Johnson was stabbed. In claiming the homicide was self defense, Johnson states that her husband was "verbally and physically" abuse toward her during their marriage.
The motion was denied because "the Court finds a conflict in the evidence such that material issues of fact remain."
On July 6, 2011, the prosecutor requested and was granted permission to obtain hospital records for David Johnson. The records are reportedly from June, 2009, when Johnson cut David Johnson's hand with a knife. The prosecutor was also granted hospital records from the day of the alleged crime to validate whether Johnson suffered the injuries she claims.

He is later granted a mental evaluation at his attorney's request. Wadley has not been arrested.
