An Aiken County man remains in the Richmond County jail without bond following weekend robberies in the Augusta Mall parking lot.
According to Richmond County Sheriff's Office reports, Jamie Trey Robinson, 35, of Bath, is being held in the Friday robbery and hijacking of two men.
The first victim, a 62-year-old Sylvania, Ga., man, told officers a man approached him in the parking lot with a gun and demanded money. The suspect then ran through the parking lot where he met his second victim, a Savannah, Ga., man, whose work van was taken.
When police attempted a traffic stop on Wrightsboro Road, the driver of the stolen van struck several vehicles, then fled on foot. He was finally apprehended in the 3200 block of Wrightsboro Road.
Robinson is charged with armed robbery, motor vehicle hijacking, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
