Two teens arrested after armed robbery

Police arrested two teenagers Friday night in the armed robbery of an Augusta couple at a Bank of America ATM on Peach Orchard Road.

A 50-year-old man told police that two males approached him and his wife in their vehicle as they were making a deposit just after 11 p.m.

The man said a gun was pointed at his head as the suspect demanded money. After taking some cash, the two robbers fled the scene, the man told police.

Shortly after the crime occurred, officers saw a 15-year-old and 17-year-old Eddie Reese - who fit the description of the suspects - sprinting out in front of a building on Lumpkin Road. The teens, both of Augusta, then walked into the Charlestown South apartment complex, according to the police report.

Officers searched them and found Reese had a revolver and $35 in cash. The victim later arrived to identify the teenagers, according to the report.
