A woman was arrested Tuesday after her 3-year-old died with prescription painkiller in his system Oct. 10, a report shows.
Alana Johnson, 45, took the boy to Medical College of Georgia Hospital about 4:40 p.m. after she found him unresponsive in their home in the 4600 block of Mike Padgett Highway, a report states.
He was pronounced dead at 5:35 p.m., and a test showed he had methadone in his bloodstream, a report states. Johnson said she is administered the narcotic by Augusta Metro Treatment Center and did not know how it got into her son. She was arrested on suspicion of second-degree child cruelty.
