Barry White, the president and CEO of the Augusta Convention and Visitors Bureau, confirmed Monday that he is being considered for a similar job in Jacksonville, Fla.
White said that a search firm contacted him regarding an opportunity in Jacksonville. He said he has spoken with the search firm and a committee at the Jacksonville & the Beaches Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The bureau’s Web site indicates that the organization has an interim president and CEO.
“I’m not proactively seeking any employment anywhere else,” White said. “It’s very, very preliminary and an initial contact. It was initiated by a search firm, and I feel very flattered and honored to be considered. Jacksonville is a large market.”
