Bridgestone gives $10,000 to Aiken Technical College

Aiken Technical College has received a $10,000 contribution from Bridgestone Americas to support its workforce development efforts. The contribution was given in conjunction with the announcement of Bridgestone’s new off-road radial tire facility in Aiken County, as well as the expansion of its current plant.

“Aiken Technical College is honored to be recognized by Bridgestone Americas as an important workforce provider for their new manufacturing facility and the expansion of their existing plant,” said Susan Winsor, the president of Aiken Tech, in a news release. “This contribution will help us develop additional workforce solutions for Bridgestone Americas and our manufacturing partners in the CSRA. We look forward to continuing our strong partnership and to working together for the economic benefit of our area.”

Bridgestone Plant Manager John Stewart applauded the college for its efforts to fill the region’s workforce pipeline.

“We have partnered with Aiken Technical College for many years to help provide a quality workforce for our operations here in Aiken County,” he said. “We will continue to work together with the college to assist them in producing the next generation of highly skilled workers that will meet our needs and the needs of our community.”
