One of England's sexiest and most dashing exports, film star Hugh Grant, had a late dinner at La Maison on Telfair.

Grant and his companions arrived at about 10:30 p.m. Friday and were quickly ushered into a private room.

They enjoyed the cuisine and ambiance and stayed until the wee hours.

According to reports, Grant was very cordial and very polite.

Sounds like we could make him an honorary Southerner.

ALSO: We hear that the regulars are back at T-Bonz Steakhouse this year.

Once again, the Washington Road restaurant is very popular with European golfers and caddies who've been stopping by for dinner all week.

SPEAKING OF CADDIES: Jack W. Vaughan, of Charleston, W.Va., said several of the pro golfers competing in the Masters Tournament have sent their caddies to buy anti-Martha Burk, pro-Hootie souvenirs from the tent-city vendors lining Washington Road.

Vaughan has been out on the road since Monday hawking his "I Support Hootie" buttons and hats.

"They think this is funny," he said.

SPOTTED: Though any type of protest gear was forbidden on the course, one badge holder stopped right outside a Berckmans Road gate Saturday to don his anti-Martha button.

MISTAKEN IDENTITY: Blake Roberts, of Chattanooga, Tenn., is a Masters Week regular in Augusta and a major golf fan.

At least one fellow thought the young man was a major golfer.

"I was in O'Charley's last night," Roberts said Saturday, "and a guy had mistaken me for Charles Howell."
