Benefit to fight childhood cancer

Birdies and Bogeys event at Julian Smith Casino Thursday night

The first “Birdies and Bogeys Benefit Party” will give locals and tourists another opportunity to have fun for a good cause this Masters Week.

A $50 ticket gets partygoers all they can eat, drink and dance — to the Mellow-D Band and DJ L Smash — from 7 p.m. until close Thursday at Julian Smith Casino, 2200 Broad St.

The event includes a silent auction. All proceeds will go to Press On To Cure Childhood Cancer, the William Weston IV Fund and the Elaine Clark Center for special-needs children and young adults. Party hosts are Clayton Boardman, George Claussen, Montie Claussen and Charlie Wall.
