Augusta National Golf Club announced during this year's Masters that fans will have a chance to win daily tournament tickets for the first time.

All of the applications must be submitted through www.masters.com. Previously, applications were taken through the mail.

Here are the rules:

- Daily tournament ticket applications must be submitted by June 30. The maximum allocation is two tickets for any day. Those who already receive series badges are not eligible to apply for the tournament tickets.

- The deadline for practice-round ticket applications is July 30. The maximum allocation remains at four for any one day. Anyone can apply.

- Each allocation will have its own random selection process. Applicants will be notified by e-mail.

- The yearly application process for existing series badge holders will also move to the Internet. More details will be announced later this year.

With the new system comes an increase in cost. Ticket prices for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday practice rounds will cost $50 each, up from $36 for Monday and Tuesday and $41 for Wednesday. Tournament round tickets are $75 each; currently, a series badge good for all four days costs $200.

What ever came out of the

What ever came out of the RCBOE tickets being sold? It seems everything went completely silent. It's almost like they're keeping it hush-hush.

I bet it's a high level

I bet it's a high level administrator in the RCBOE and the media has ben asked to turn away.
I think someone needs to do a little investigative work on this. How can a story that big just go away with no resolution.

Actually, I think there will

Actually, I think there will be a lot of tickets available. We noticed this year that the crowds shown on tv didn't seem nearly as big as previous years, and the ratings are declining. The hotels didn't fill up, there were parking spaces available- they need to attract more spectators.

I don't know what station or

I don't know what station or tv corgimom was watching, but the crowds were as big or bigger than ever. Plus the ratings were at the top of the charts as usual. Don't know where you get your info from, but it is not very good. Ever since 9/11 the hotels and motels in Augusta has declined because patrons with tickets across the world are selling their tickets to online ticket agencies and making big bucks, because of the economy problems, therefore more Augustans are able to go to the tournament now. Augusta National is not opening up 4 day tournament badges, just single day tickets, because the economy is preventing patrons to spend a week in Augusta now, mainly because of the rediculous hotel and motel gouging. Also the parking condition is way better than it ever has been because they have created more than enough free parking, thank you Augusta National.
