Operation Christmas Child

What: Shoeboxes filled with gifts for impoverished children will be collected at several locations beginning next week. Samaritan’s Purse began Operation Christmas Child in 1993 and has distributed more than 100 million shoeboxes in more than 100 countries.

When: Monday through Nov. 25

How: Fill a shoebox with toys, personal hygiene items, school supplies, hair accessories, etc. Notes may be included. Also include a $7 donation for shipping. For more on what not to include and how to prepare the box, visit www.samaritanspurse.org.
