Masses “For Giving Thanks to God for the Gift of Human Life” will be held at a local Catholic church on Tuesday, the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade.

The 1973 Supreme Court decision established a legal right to abortion.

The Masses begin at 7 and 9:15 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church, 1420 Monte Sano Ave.

The church will also host a brief outdoor prayer service at the Memorial to the Unborn outside the church narthex at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, said the Rev. Jerry Ragan.
