St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church will bless animals at First Friday in October.
The annual Blessing of the Animals in honor of St. Francis of Assisi will be held at 6, 6:30 and 7 p.m. Friday in front of Art on Broad, 1028 Broad St.
At each time, the Rev. Jason Haddox will lead a brief service with a reading, song and blessing. Pets on leashes or in cages are welcomed, as are photos of pets and stuffed toys.
The church will also bless animals at 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, in the church garden at 3321 Wheeler Road. For more, call (706) 738-6676.
Pagan Pride Day
Augusta’s fourth annual Pagan Pride Day celebration will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 6 at Unitarian Universalist Church of Augusta, 3501 Walton Way Ext.
Admission is free; nonperishable food donations will be gathered for a food drive.
This year’s event focuses on education and will have information about Paganism and local groups and events. Speakers from Cherry Hill Seminary, Earth Healers Temple and Sunrise Coast Tabernacle will address the crowd, and author Patricia Della Piana will present research from her book Aradia.
The celebration also includes craft workshops on American Indian beading, soapmaking and wheat weaving, movement workshops on Laughter Yoga and Goddess Bellydance, and entertainment by belly dancers, glow dancers and Celtic fiddler Patricia Childs.

Freedom is Here!
Mosaic United Methodist Church will hold Freedom is Here!, an evening of joyful praise, prayer and thanksgiving, at 7 p.m. Thursday at the church, 478 Columbia Industrial Blvd., Evans.
