High Road III sings during the 10:30 a.m. worship service of Grace Baptist Church in Evans on Sunday.

OCC kickoff

Hundreds of children, families and volunteers from Aiken will fill 11,000 boxes for children overseas at a kick-off event for Operation Christmas Child.

Experiencing God

Holy Trinity Anglican Church in North Augusta will offer the Bible study Experiencing God on Wednesdays beginning Sept. 26.

Blessing animals

Church of the Holy Comforter holds its annual Blessing of the Animals at 10 a.m. Sept. 29 at 473 Furys Ferry Road, Martinez.

All creatures are welcome at the event, which goes on rain or shine. Free treats for animals and people will be available, along with free bandanas for dogs.

A special remembrance will be held for pets that have died.

“Dogs should be on leashes, cats in carrier, horses in harnesses and fish in bowls, etc.,” said the Rev. Cynthia Taylor, the pastor of the church.

St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church has announced plans for a capital fund drive to build a new worship space.

The Building Together in Faith Campaign, aims to raise $4.5 million to $9 million.
