Abuse prevention

Child Enrichment Inc. is offering free child abuse prevention training.

The program, Darkness to Light: Stewards for Chil­dren, Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Program, will be held from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Kroc Center, 1833 Broad St.

The program is designed to educate adults to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. Reservations are required.

Community event

Mosaic United Methodist and Christ the King Luther­an churches have joined to put on a monthly Third Saturday event.

The free community resource pro­gram includes food, toiletries, medical screening, men­tal health care, hair­cuts, diapers, GED sign-up, youth mentoring options, job resources and prayer.

Anyone is welcome. The event is 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 18 at Mosaic United Methodist Church, 478 Columbia Industrial Blvd. Call (706) 877-6468 for more information.

Financial Peace U.

New Hope Worship Cen­ter will hold Financial Peace University starting Aug. 27.

The nine-week course aims to provide families and individuals with practical tools to set up long-term financial success.
