The event is part of the church’s 225th anniversary celebration.
It includes an outdoor praise and worship concert in Springfield Village Park, at 12th and Reynolds streets in downtown Augusta.
The free event features gospel singing, praise dance, spoken-word poetry and food.
Participants are asked to bring canned goods and other nonperishable food to be donated to Head of the Giant Ministries, a nonprofit family shelter in south Augusta.
The church’s celebration continues Aug. 12, when the Rev. Al Sharpton speaks at the church at 3 p.m.
