1,000 to attend church fellowship this week

An estimated 1,000 people are attending the 2012 Deliverance Evangelistic Association of Churches National Fellowship in Augusta this week.

The association’s annual national gathering begins today and features several speakers through Sunday. The events include a worship service with Jerry Hutchings at 7:30 p.m. Thursday; James Gailliard at 7:30 p.m. Friday; and Glen Spaulding at 10 a.m. Sunday.

The featured speakers are from Augusta, Philadelphia and North Carolina. All events are at Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center, 2 10th St.

According to the Augusta Convention & Visitors Bureau, the conference brings in an estimated $450,000 in direct visitor spending.
