Adams, the pastor of Hartford Memorial Baptist Church in Detroit, taught at Harvard Divinity School as the William and Lucille Nickerson Professor of the Practice of Ethics and Ministry. The pastor has been awarded 12 honorary doctorates from colleges and universities; has spoken before the United Nations and has published several sermons.
