GOD AND COUNTRY CELEBRATION: 1 p.m. Sunday, Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church, 1330 Monte Sano Ave.; barbecue lunch begins at noon; $12 for adults, $6 for ages 6-12 and free for children younger than 5; call (706) 738-8822.

INDEPENDENCE DAY BAR-B-Q: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Augusta Jewish Community Center, 898 Weinberger Way, Evans; for guests, the cost is $15 for adults, $7 for seniors and children ages 3-12, with a family max of $50; reservations recommended; call (706) 228-3636 or see augustajcc.org.

STAR SPANGLED FOURTH CONCERT: 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, St. Paul’s Church, 605 Reynolds St.; chorus and orchestra perform patriotic hits at a concert, followed by a dinner by Crum’s on Central and fireworks at Augusta Riverwalk.
