Former Green Beret to speak at National Prayer Breakfast at Fort Gordon

A former Green Beret and military intelligence officer will speak Thursday at Fort Gordon at a National Prayer Breakfast event.

The breakfast will be held at 6:30 a.m. in the main ballroom of The Gordon Conference & Catering Center on 19th Street. Stu Weber will speak. The recipient of three bronze stars as a Green Beret in Vietnam, Weber went on to found Good Shepherd Community Church in Oregon, where he served for 32 years.

The National Prayer Breakfast has been held annually since 1953. It was established as the Presidential Prayer Breakfast by President Dwight D. Eisenhower and renamed the National Prayer Breakfast in 1970.
