Judge will speak for MLK event
Superior Court Judge Carl Brown will speak at a celebration in honor of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. in North Augusta on Sunday.

Convent to hold seminar on Islam
The Order of St. Helena, an Episcopal convent in Augusta, will hold a seminar on Islam, Sufism and Rumi featuring the Rev. Lynn C. Bauman.
Bauman is the director of the Praxis Retreat and Learning Center in Texas. He lived for 10 years in the Middle East, including seven in Iran. He has written several books.
Bauman will present a three-day program, Light Upon Light: An Introduction to Islam, Sufism and Rumi, starting at 7 p.m. Feb. 10. It goes through 1 p.m. Feb. 12.
The program, part of the St. Helena Series for Spiritual Growth, will be held at the convent, 3042 Eagle Drive, Augusta. The cost is $125, with an advance deposit of $65 required.
