Korean choir performs

South Korean Evangelist Billy Kim and the 41-member Korean Children's Choir will appear at a special performance during the missions conference of Redeemer Presbyterian Church.

The choir performs at 6:30 p.m. today at the church, 2540 William Few Parkway, Evans. Call (706) 854-9707 for more information.

Book signing

Debi Toporoff, an author of Christian children's books, will sign copies of her work from 10 a.m. to noon today at Books-A-Million, 2441 Whiskey Road, Aiken.

Toporoff, a resident of Beach Island, is the author of books including Roscoe Meets Nurse Quacker, Roscoe Meets Gramps the Catfish , Roscoe's Deep Sea Adventure , Boogie , and When God Came Down .

Adoption party

The Reaching Hands Adoption Ministry of Warren Baptist Church is throwing a party for families who have adopted or are interested in adoption.

The event is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 12 at the church, 3203 Washington Road.

Lunch will be provided, and there will be entertainment for children.

Shrove Tuesday events

- The Anglican Church of the Holy Trinity will hold a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church, 160 Merovan Drive, North Augusta. A donation of $3 is suggested for adults and $2 for children younger than 12.

Shrove Tuesday is the day before the beginning of Lent and is also known as Fat Tuesday.

- Church of the Holy Comforter will hold a Shrove Tuesday shrimp boil and pancake supper at 6 p.m. Tuesday at 473 Furys Ferry Road, Martinez. Tickets cost $10 for individuals and $30 for families.

Tickets may be paid for at the door, but reservations are required to know how much food to prepare.

Proceeds from the supper will help fund a youth mission trip this summer. After dinner there will be a brief service, The Burning of the Palms, in preparation for Ash Wednesday services.

Ken Medema concert

Contemporary Christian music composer, singer and performer Ken Medema will be in concert at 7 p.m. March 19 in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, 3500 Walton Way Extension.

The event is sponsored by Interfaith Hospitality Network of Augusta, a program for homeless families in the area.

General admission tickets cost $10 and are available at First Baptist Church of Augusta, all Interfaith Hospitality Network of Augusta-affiliated churches, Lifeway Bookstore and Family Christian Bookstores.
