School rally

The back-to-school concert and rally at Crawford Avenue Baptist Church, 507 Crawford Ave., starts at 7 p.m. Friday.

The event features The Lively Stones and includes praise, worship, prayer for schools and speaker Shane Padgett, of Greenbrier Church.

Golf tournament

The Fishers of Men Ministry of Oakey Grove Baptist Church has organized a golf tournament to benefit the Garden City Rescue Mission.

Tee time is 12:15 p.m. Aug. 28 at Gordon Lakes on Fort Gordon. Registration is $50 per player. Prizes will be awarded. Register by Tuesday.

Tutorial program

The Southside Community Outreach Tutorial Program will register new students for fall on Sept. 14, 16, 21 and 23 from 3 to 7 p.m.

Classes start Sept. 28, and are held every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Students in grades 2 through 12 can participate in the sessions, taught by certified teachers in language arts, math, science and social studies. A computer lab is available, and there will be SAT prep.

Classes are free, but proof of income and student progress reports are required.

Couples' conference

A couples' conference at Whole Life Ministries in Augusta will feature Jack and Alta Hatcher of Christ for the Nations in Dallas. The event will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 27 and 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 28.
