NEW YORK - A Scottish terrier is one step closer to winning America's top dog show.
Sadie the Scottie is a heavy favorite at the Westminster show at Madison Square Garden in New York.
The coal-black 4-year-old was an easy winner in the best of breed judging. Later tonight, she'll try to win the terrier group. The best in show will be picked right around 11 p.m.
There were 2,500 dogs entered at Westminster. A whippet, a French bulldog, a puli and a toy poodle are already in the final ring.
A golden retriever called Treasure was hoping to join them later in the day. Goldens are often among the most popular dogs in the country, but have never won Westminster.
