The 17th annual Plant Swap begins at 9 a.m. at the park’s Franke Pavilion. Those who have been to prior sales can attest to the great finds, fabulous bargains and great fun.

Plants donated by area master gardeners are sold to raise money for the park. Prior sales have funded the Bark Park – the place in Augusta for dogs to hang out – and new playground equipment.

Many master gardeners admit they often go home with new plants, too, because there are always plants at the sale that a gardener cannot live without.

Especially after this winter, you might have even more reason to hit the park: to replace plants that didn’t make it.

So come on out – and bring cash.

A well-placed source told the Garden Gnome that Tom and Kay Mills will attend the sale this year. The Pendleton King Park Annual Plant Sale was Kay Mills’ master gardener project.

Plant Trade & Sale

An event not to miss. I started going many years ago, and have not missed a sale yet. A great place to get great plants at very reasonable prices. Also, a chance to speak with Master Gardner's who are always ready and willing to help with any gardening questions. Tip: Take a wagon!

Pretty good accessibility, lots of plants

Most swappers & venders stay in the pavilion & surrounding sidewalks so wheelchair access is pretty good. It's a great event & there're plenty of great plant swaps & deals. The rest of the park has lots of picnic spots so plan to bring a hamper & stay for lunch. I agree with tncatbird- take a wagon!
