“It’s a really nice area. I know a lot of military people that live in here,” Dungy said.

After viewing several houses, Dungy, who is stationed in Augusta with the Navy, put in an offer the day she saw her current home. She moved in in February.

“I initially started looking at houses in a little lower price range that were not new,” Dungy said.

“When I saw this one, it was top-of-the-line everything. It was as big as I wanted it. I love the kitchen and everything that was already painted.”

The three-bedroom, 2½-bath home has an open floor plan, but the kitchen is separate from the living room.

“I didn’t want the kitchen to be the main attraction when I’m entertaining. I really like that there’s a half bath downstairs so nobody really has to go upstairs,” she said.

Dungy is pleased that all of the bedrooms are upstairs and have walk-in closets. She’s looking forward to completing an upstairs loft, which has lots of natural light..

Ashbrooke’s environment is very friendly, she said.

“My neighbors seem really cool. Cairo and I go out running quite a bit, and there’s people who are out, too,” she said.
