“I was riding around, and the builder just had the foundation down. I told him that it was going to be my house,” Moore said. “I chose this area because my church is right down the street, and I didn’t want to move too far.”

She moved into her home in October 2009.

Moore’s three bedroom, two bath home has a wrap-around porch, which sets it apart from others in the subdivision. She loves the home’s hardwood floors and open floor plan, which connects the kitchen and living room.

“Out of all the houses they built, they have not duplicated this house at all,” she said.

Since moving in, she has completed extensive renovations, such as installing recess lights in the kitchen, living room and master bedroom, repainting all of the interior walls and adding hardwood floors in the kitchen. She also built a 20 foot by 20 foot deck and lighted fountain behind the home.

She plans to construct a pergola in the spacious backyard to entertain guests. She loves to invite family, friends and church members to her home and held a Christmas party this weekend.

Moore takes special care to beautify her yard with flowers and rose bushes year round. Winter pansies recently brought a splash of color to her yard.

“In the summertime, I would have people that were driving by to stop and say how nice the yard is and how pretty it is,” she said.
