Garden Gnome: 2012 Hydrangea Conference to feature Vince Dooley

The Hydrangea Conference at Savannah Rapids Pavilion on June 7 will cover many garden topics.

To get the early bird discount to this year’s Hydrangea Conference, you need to register by June 1.

Reservations are required for the June 7 conference featuring Vince Dooley. Sponsored by the CSRA Hydrangea Society, the conference begins at 8 a.m. and includes lunch and snacks.

The cost is $25 by June 1 and $30 after. The conference will be at the Savannah Rapids Pavilion.

Speakers include:

• Vince Dooley, UGA’s former football coach and author of Digging in the Dirt with the Dawg;

• Jamie Blackburn, curator of Woodland Gardens at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, “Beyond Hydrangeas: Creative Companions for the Shade Garden”;

• Robert McCartney, co-owner, Woodlanders Nursery in Aiken, “Hydrangea Homes and Histories”;

• Lisa Bartlett, Green and Grow, Atlanta, “Jekyll and Hyd-rangea”;

• Ask the Experts – questions and answers by the panel of speakers.
