Vernon Praymous wanted to live in the country, and Savannah Praymous preferred the city. They found a compromise at Woodlief subdivision in Evans and built their home in 2006.
“It’s the best of both worlds,” Savannah said. “Woodlief subdivision is very neighborly. The residents really care about their property value. It’s quiet, low crime.”
The four-bedroom, 41/2- bath home is decorated with pieces from the couple’s international travels with the military. In the sitting room is a schrank, or tall, wardrobelike chest with double doors that was custom-built in Germany. Above the front door is a custom-built plant shelf that contains a handmade trunk from Kuwait. On the walls are military-inspired art and biblical scriptures.
To enter their master bedroom, complete with skylights, the Praymouses walk through a large sitting room.
The house also contains a media room equipped with comfortable recliners.
Vernon Praymous’ favorite part of the home is the large backyard, where he has built a brick shed for his barbecue grill and their grandchildren have plenty of room to play.
