Joe and Cherrie Alexander are young, but they have already found the last house they plan to live in. They built it in Crystal Pointe in Graniteville.

The couple, who have been married for three years, loved the idea of customizing a home to meet their needs, and they really like the spacious, nearly half-acre lot their new home sits on.

A large, open kitchen gives Cherrie plenty of room to move around in, while the open floor plan offers plenty of room for entertaining. So does the large, screened-in back porch.

“I wanted a big porch. During the summer and fall, I wanted a place to hang out. When we have company over, (we) don’t want to be cooped up in the living room,” Joe said.

Upstairs, the home’s three bedrooms give the family more personal space than they had in their previous home, including walk-in closets in all the bedrooms.

A loft provides a nice landing for the stairs and a place to hook up a television for some family Wii time.
