BMW’s sedans all bear a close resemblance, so we’re including entries from the readers who also guessed the other series. Chosen randomly from the correct entries, though, was Bill Harding, of Evans, who told us:
“BMW’s 760Li sedan is sticker priced at a very affordable $142,500 without options. If you add every available factory accessory, you will run the sticker price up another 19 grand. Oh, but that $161,500 will get you one very nice vehicle. The 6-liter, 48-valve, twin-turbo, 535-horsepower, V-12 engine is about the smoothest on the planet, and the powerful engine mates nicely with the eight-speed automatic.”

CANTON, GA.: David Anderson wrote: “This is BMW’s largest sedan offering – and it comes with a pretty large price tag to boot. Priced from the it-costs-how-much opener of $74,000 for the base 740i to the no-way price of just over $141,000 for the 760Li, this is one lineup that is not for the faint-of-heart or weak-of-funds.
“Engine choices range from the base 3-liter inline six rated at 315 horsepower to the 6-liter V-12 rated at 535 horsepower. The limited edition Alpina B7 comes with a 4.4-liter V-8 rated at 540 horsepower. All engines are either a single twin-scroll turbo or twin turbos and require premium fuel.
“Of course, as the horsepower and number of cylinders go up, the gas mileage goes down, from 19 mpg city/29 mpg highway to 13 mpg city/20 mpg highway. Standard automatic start/stop technology on all but the monster V-12 helps to mitigate the fuel mileage, but if you can afford the monthly payments, you will be hard-pressed for any sympathy from me over the mileage or premium fuel requirement.
“All of this makes the used 2011 BMW 535 with six-speed manual, priced at $42,000, that I recently (and briefly) looked at seem quite reasonable.
“I cannot deny that these are some of the nicest, best engineered cars on the road today, although the styling has gotten just a little too ‘me too’ for my tastes as it blends in with the masses.
“Besides, there are just too many off-color jokes around that start off with, ‘What’s the difference between a BMW driver and a …’ for me to seriously consider purchasing one.”

Wayne Wilke wrote: “The car is a 2013 BMW sedan. It is hard to tell whether it’s a 3 Series, 5 Series or 7 Series, since their rear-quarter passenger side views are all quite similar. My guess is that is a 7 Series, which is the largest one.
