What Is It?

What a difference a week makes! Last week, the folks who identified the 45-year-old AMC Javelin filled this page. This week, the 2012 Audi Q5 was identified by only two of our readers.

For a better photo and information about the crossover utility vehicle from Audi, read this week’s road test.

Chosen from the correct entries – all two of them – was that of Carolyn Ogles, of Augusta. She wins a prize from The Augusta Chronicle.

Also identifying the vehicle was Jerry Paul, of Evans, who said he was “15 or 20 percent sure” it was the Q5.

Additionally, several readers guessed other makes or models.

More readers write in when we feature a vintage auto, and we try to do that when we can. Other weeks, we use What Is It? as a way to foretell the auto review for the coming week.

We appreciate all our readers – from the faithful who enter the contest almost every week to those who encounter the quiz in the Classified section for the first time. We’ve noticed that their ages range from young to old, and that a good number of our contestants are women.

We like it when you share a personal memory of the featured car. Maybe you owned one years ago, or perhaps you drive one like it now. We’ve had readers tell us that they have been shopping for a new car and have considered that week’s auto.

Thank you, and keep guessing What Is It?
